Yekaterina Gubareva, deputy head of the Kherson region administration, said the referendum on reunification with Russia would be an opportunity to get out of the “wild field” and return to city life.

“The lands of Novorossia were developed during the reign of Catherine II. Then they became a land field after the Russian-Turkish war. There were no people, no roads, absolutely nothing. In a few centuries, history repeats itself. We are now building a civilization on earth,” she added she is in the statement. She pointed out that the referendum is the legal instrument and way to return the land to the people.

“From now on, hundreds of thousands of Kherson residents will be able to show their position and get results,” she continued.

Yesterday, on Saturday, the press service of the regional administration of the Kherson region announced the formation of an election commission to hold elections and a referendum on the issue of territorial belonging to the Kherson region.

Concerning In the Zaporozhye region The authorities of the region have called for a permanent and constant presence of the Russian army in the region.

In this context, Volodymyr Rogov, a member of the Main Council of the regional state administration of the region, said that the permanent deployment of the Russian army in the Zaporozhye region will become a guarantor of the region’s security from attempts of external aggression and terrorism by Ukrainian extremist militants.

He noted that a more substantive discussion on the deployment of permanent military units could be held after the referendum and the entry of the Zaporozhye region into Russia.

The Russian army took control of the Kherson region of Ukraine and the Azov part of the Zaporozhye region. Civil-military administrations were formed there, Russian TV channels and radio stations began broadcasting, and these two shopping areas were restored along with the Russian Crimea. Both regions also declared their desire to become part of Russia.
